چکیده

The high-quality imaging of vascular networks in biological tissue is significant to accurate cancer diagnosis with acoustic-resolution-based photoacoustic microscopy (AR-PAM). So far, many new back-projection (BP) models have been proposed improve the image quality AR-PAM off-focal regions. However, essential arguments are still open regarding effectiveness these methods. To settle remaining questions and explore potential adaptability BP methods network imaging, we conducted extensive simulations a complex based on GPU-based data generation framework. Results show that SAFT-CF algorithm effectively improves reconstructed but mainly highlights point targets. In contrast, STR-BP can balance computational cost, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), consistency target intensity for both line proved interpolation more A-line numbers would not due information lost. Thus, detector number scan should be sufficiently large. also showed method improved PSNR by 4.7 7.5 dB, which helps withstand noise level higher than 25%. simulation framework intuitive findings will guide design systems reconstruction.

Super-resolution photoacoustic microscopy using photonic nanojets: a simulation study.

Optical resolution photoacoustic microscopy (ORPAM) is important for various biomedical applications, such as the study of cellular structures, microcirculation systems, and tumor angiogenesis. However, the lateral resolution of a conventional ORPAM is limited by optical diffraction. In this work, we report a simulation study to achieve subdiffraction-limited super-resolution in ORPAM using mic...

Acoustic resolution photoacoustic Doppler velocimetry in blood-mimicking fluids

Photoacoustic Doppler velocimetry provides a major opportunity to overcome limitations of existing blood flow measuring methods. By enabling measurements with high spatial resolution several millimetres deep in tissue, it could probe microvascular blood flow abnormalities characteristic of many different diseases. Although previous work has demonstrated feasibility in solid phantoms, measuremen...

Velocity measurements in whole blood using acoustic resolution photoacoustic Doppler

Acoustic resolution photoacoustic Doppler velocimetry promises to overcome the spatial resolution and depth penetration limitations of current blood flow measuring methods. Despite successful implementation using blood-mimicking fluids, measurements in blood have proved challenging, thus preventing in vivo application. A common explanation for this difficulty is that whole blood is insufficient...

In vivo corneal neovascularization imaging by optical-resolution photoacoustic microscopy

Corneal neovascularization leads to blurred vision, thus in vivo visualization is essential for pathological studies in animal models. Photoacoustic (PA) imaging can delineate microvasculature and hemodynamics noninvasively, which is suitable for investigating corneal neovascularization. In this study, we demonstrate in vivo imaging of corneal neovascularization in the mouse eye by optical-reso...
